Evgeni Malkin scored his 400th regular-season NHL goal in the Pittsburgh Penguins' 4-1 win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday.
The center is the fourth player to score 400 goals with the Penguins, behind Mario Lemieux (690 goals), Sidney Crosby (451) and Jaromir Jagr (439). Malkin is the seventh player born in Russia to score 400 NHL goals, behind Alex Ovechkin (679 goals), Sergei Fedorov (483), Alexander Mogilny (473), Pavel Bure (437), Ilya Kovalchuk (436) and Alex Kovalev (430).

Ovechkin (No. 1 pick) and Malkin (No. 2) are the only two players selected in the 2004 NHL Draft to score 400 goals. This is the fourth time the first two picks from the same draft scored 400 goals: Guy Lafleur and Marcel Dionne (1971 NHL Draft), Pierre Turgeon and Brendan Shanahan (1987) and Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau (1997).
Eichel extends point streak to 17 games
Jack Eichel had a goal and an assist to extend his point streak to an NHL career-high 17 games, though the Buffalo Sabres lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-3 at Scotiabank Arena . The Sabres captain has 31 points (16 goals, 15 assists) during the streak, which is the longest in the NHL this season. Eichel has 50 points (24 goals, 26 assists) in 35 games. He is the fifth player in the League to reach 50 points this season, joining Edmonton Oilers forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon and Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand. He is the first Sabres player with 50 points in 35 games or fewer since 1992-93 when Pat LaFontaine had 50 points in 27 games and Mogilny had 54 points in 31 games.
Matthews has 25th multigoal game
Auston Matthews scored twice in Toronto's win against Buffalo, his 25th multigoal game in the NHL. Only Ovechkin, with 29, has more multigoal games than Matthews since the Maple Leafs forward entered the NHL in 2016-17. And Jimmy Carson, with 31, is the only United States-born player with more multigoal games in his first four NHL seasons.

Matthews leads the Maple Leafs with 36 points (21 goals, 15 assists) in 35 games. He is tied for third in the League in goals, with Draisaitl and Ovechkin.
Predators score season-high eight goals in win
The Nashville Predators scored seven unanswered goals in an 8-3 win against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. The eight goals are the most scored by the Predators this season; they've scored six goals four times. Nashville has won two straight and four of its last six games (4-2-0). The loss ended the Islanders' 13-game point streak at home (12-0-1) and their eight-game winning streak at Nassau Coliseum. They previously had not allowed more than five goals in any game this season. The Islanders had been 19-0-1 this season and 57-2-3 (including shootout winners) since Barry Trotz became coach prior to last season when scoring at least three goals prior to the loss Tuesday.
