Facts and Figures: Jets enjoy record-setting night

The Central Division-leading Winnipeg Jets set a franchise record by scoring six goals in the first period and rolled to a 9-3 victory against the Anaheim Ducks at Bell MTS Place on Saturday.

Winnipeg set a Jets/Atlanta Thrashers record for most goals in any period of a regular-season game. The previous mark was five, last achieved in the first period of a 6-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on March 15, 2018. The original Winnipeg Jets (now the Arizona Coyotes) scored six goals in a period on two occasions: during the second period of a 7-5 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Nov. 9, 1984, and in the third of an 8-4 win against the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 30, 1988.
The nine goals set a Jets/Thrashers record

and matched the mark for goals scored in any game. The Jets won 9-8 at the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 27, 2011 and Atlanta defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 9-0 at RBC Center on Nov. 12, 2005.

The Jets (34-16-2) also set a Jets/Thrashers record for fewest games needed to reach the 70-point mark in a season; they did it in 52 games, one fewer than last season. Winnipeg has won seven in a row at Bell MTS Place, tied with the San Jose Sharks for the longest active home winning streak in the NHL.
Jack Roslovic scored three goals for the first hat trick of his NHL career. He's the third Jets player to have at least one three-goal performance this season, joining forwards Patrik Laine (three) and Nikolaj Ehlers (two). Winnipeg's six hat tricks are tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins for most in the NHL.

Kucherov, Lightning each hit 80-point mark

Nikita Kucherov became the first player to reach 80 points this season when he had an assist for the Tampa Bay Lightning in a
3-2 win
against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Kucherov (22 goals, 58 assists) set a Lightning record for fewest personal games (52) required to reach 80 points. The previous low was 60 by Vincent Lecavalier in 2006-07.

Kucherov was also the first player to 80 points in 2017-18. It's the first time a player has been the first in the NHL to reach the 80-point mark in consecutive seasons since Penguins center Sidney Crosby did it in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Wayne Gretzky owns the longest such streak in NHL history. He was the first to 80 points in seven straight seasons with the Edmonton Oilers from 1981-82 to 1987-88.
The NHL-leading Lightning (39-11-2) became the first team to reach 80 points this season.

Islanders stay perfect in second of back-to-back games

against the Kings at Nassau Coliseum. The Metropolitan Division-leading Islanders (30-15-6) are 8-0-0 in the second of back-to-back games this season.
New York is 6-0-2 in its past eight games and 6-1-2 at the Coliseum.
The Islanders are the third team in the NHL, after the Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs, to reach 30 wins this season. It's the eighth time they've been the first team in their division to hit the 30-win mark. They were the first Metropolitan Division team to 30 wins in 2014-15. Before that, it hadn't happened since 1983-84.

Flyers extend winning streak to seven

Nolan Patrick's goal at 2:01 of overtime completed a comeback and gave the Flyers their seventh straight win,
5-4 against the Oilers
at Wells Fargo Center. Philadelphia trailed 4-2 in the third period before forcing overtime by scoring two of its four power-play goals, matching the most in a game this season.

The seven-game winning streak is the longest active run in the NHL and longest for the Flyers since they went 10-0-0 from Nov. 27-Dec. 14, 2016.
Rookie goalie Carter Hart made 40 saves and is 6-0-0 in his past six games since Jan. 14. The 20-year-old is the sixth different goalie in NHL history to have a personal winning streak of at least six games before turning 21 and first since Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens went 7-0-0 from March 20-April 5, 2008. Hart is three games shy of matching the longest personal winning streak by a rookie goalie in Flyers history. Pelle Lindbergh went 9-0-0 from Dec. 22, 1982 to Feb. 10, 1983.

Holland becomes winningest GM in Red Wings history

Ken Holland earned his 914th regular-season win as an NHL general manager when the
Detroit Red Wings defeated the Ottawa Senators 2-0
at Canadian Tire Centre.
All of Holland's wins have come with the Red Wings; he moved past Jack Adams (913) for the most in their history. Adams was GM of the Detroit Cougars, Falcons and Red Wings from May 14, 1927 through April 26, 1962. His teams went 913-726 with 355 ties (2,181 points) in 1,994 games.
Holland and Adams are sixth and seventh in regular-season wins behind David Poile (1,364), Glen Sather (1,319), Lou Lamoriello (1,241), Harry Sinden (1,170) and Cliff Fletcher (953).
Holland is one of seven active GMs who's first on his current team's all-time wins list, and the only one with an Original Six team. The others: Poile (770 wins with the Nashville Predators), Doug Wilson (San Jose Sharks, 675), Bob Murray (Anaheim Ducks, 445), Dale Tallon (Florida Panthers, 262), Jarmo Kekalainen (Columbus Blue Jackets, 262) and George McPhee (Vegas Golden Knights, 80).
