Kucherov

Nikita Kucherov set a Tampa Bay Lightning single-season playoff scoring record with two assists in a 3-2 win against the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Monday which tied the best-of-7 series.

The forward has 28 points (six goals, 22 assists) in 21 games, passing Brad Richards' mark of 26 points (12 goals, 14 assists) in 23 games for the Lightning in 2004, when they won the Stanley Cup. It also was Kucherov's 25th multi-point NHL playoff game, passing Martin St. Louis' mark of 24 for most in Lightning history.
Kucherov leads the League in scoring this postseason, two points ahead of Lightning forward Brayden Point, who has 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists).
Point scored his 10th goal in the first period of Game 2, tying him for the NHL lead with Stars forward Joe Pavelski, who scored in the second period, and Vancouver Canucks forward Bo Horvat.
Pavelski, who turned 36 on July 11, became the fourth player in League history to score at least 10 goals in one playoff season at age 36 or older, joining Maurice Richard of the Montreal Canadiens (11 goals, 1958), Brett Hull of the Detroit Red Wings (10 goals, 1992) and Wayne Gretzky of the New York Rangers (10 goals, 1997).

Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 27 saves and improved to 6-0 in the game following a loss during this postseason. The only goalie in NHL history to win each of his first seven games following a loss in one playoff season is Nikolai Khabibulin for the Lightning in 2004.
The win was Vasilevskiy's 30th in 54 NHL postseason games (30-21). He's the fifth active goalie to reach 30 playoff wins in 54 games or fewer, joining Marc-Andre Fleury of the Vegas Golden Knights (48 games), Corey Crawford of the Chicago Blackhawks (50), Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins (52) and Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings (54).
Vasilevskiy (26 years, 58 days) also became the fifth-youngest goalie in NHL history at the time of his 30th playoff win.

Game 3 in Edmonton, the hub city for the Cup Final, is Wednesday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS). Since the Final became a best-of-7 series in 1939, teams that win Game 3 when the series is tied 1-1 own an all-time series record of 22-7.
