NEW YORK (Jan. 31, 2022) - The National Hockey League (NHL®) today announced the return of NHL Fan Skills at Home™, a fan-focused, Instagram and TikTok campaign. Beginning Friday, Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. ET and ending Sunday, Feb. 20, NHL Fan Skills at Home™ will take over Instagram and TikTok as a social media celebration of the most creative and talented fans in all of hockey.

NHL Fan Skills at Home™ directs fans or legal guardians of fans under 18 to submit videos of themselves performing hockey skills of all levels in any one of five categories - Shootout Move, Accuracy, Celly, Trick Shot, and Stickhandling. Instagram and TikTok feeds will fill with videos of fans shooting pucks through their living rooms, dangling across driveways, creatively incorporating their pets and kids, and other fun videos.
Three fans from the NHL Fan Skills™ Class of 2021 - Pavel Barber, Zac Bell and Pete Lenes - will travel to Las Vegas for 2022 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend to show off their skills and offer creative inspiration in 2022. These fans will participate in a friendly skills competition inspired by events like NHL Breakaway Challenge™, Puck Control and NHL Accuracy Shooting™. Each of these fans will also attend this Friday's 2022 NHL All-Star Skills™ presented by DraftKings Sportsbook festivities and could find themselves included in the event itself.
"Building on the success of last year's NHL Fan Skills At Home campaign, we are thrilled to bring back this entertaining and unique campaign to engage and honor fans while celebrating all of the incredible diverse hockey talent across Instagram and TikTok," said Heidi Browning, NHL Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer. "We can't wait to honor some of last year's fantastic NHL Fan Skills Class of 2021 in Las Vegas during Honda NHL All-Star Weekend and show off their creative hockey skills to the entire world. NHL Fan Skills at Home puts our passionate fans front and center across NHL channels alongside their favorite NHL players."
Fans can submit videos by uploading to NHL.com/FanSkills. Fans can also upload the video to their personal Instagram and then direct message the post to the NHL on Instagram. Fans who use TikTok are encouraged to use hashtag #NHLFanSkills. Multiple submissions are allowed. A select number of fans who share videos may have their videos reposted by the NHL. A select number of fans whose videos are curated by the NHL may be named to NHL Fan Skills™ Class of 2022 in March 2022. For more information, fans can visit
