Fantasy picks: Viktor Arvidsson sustaining breakout
Predators forward among March 30 DFS targets against Maple Leafs
TOP CENTER: Tyler Seguin, DAL ($6,800)
Seguin has seven points in as many games against the Boston Bruins, his former team, including two points and seven shots on goal on Feb. 26. He has four straight seasons of at least 70 points and 278 SOG since joining the Dallas Stars, and has been strong on the road with 33 points in 38 games this season. He has the same DraftKings points-per-game average as Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Auston Matthews (4.2) yet is $700 cheaper.
VALUE CENTER: Kyle Turris, OTT ($5,000)
Turris has seven points and 26 SOG in his past seven games. He had 7.5 DraftKings points against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, and his price somehow dipped $100 ahead of his game at the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. Turris has 28 points in 33 road games and had 4.5 DraftKings points (one goal, one block, two SOG) against the Wild on Nov. 13. He plays on the Ottawa Senators' first power-play unit (17 power-play points) with Erik Karlsson.
TOP WING: Viktor Arvidsson, NSH ($6,100)
With a little more than a week to go in the regular season, Arvidsson is tied with Filip Forsberg for the Nashville Predators' lead in goals (29), leads them in SOG (229), and has 56 points (second behind Ryan Johansen's 58). Arvidsson has nine points and 28 SOG in his past 10 games (4.1 DraftKings points), outperforming his stellar season average (3.8). He has 34 points in 38 home games and is worth spending up for on this nine-game night. He had one goal and seven SOG against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Nov. 15.
VALUE WING: Teuvo Teravainen, CAR ($4,200)
So much of the fantasy talk surrounding the Carolina Hurricanes has been about Elias Lindholm ($4,900), who remains a value pick on the wing with at least one point in 11 of his past 12 games. But Teravainen also has put together his most consistent scoring stretch of the season with at least one point in 11 of his past 17. He has 49 SOG and four PPP in that span, playing on a man-advantage unit with Lindholm and Sebastian Aho. Teravainen has one point in two games against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
TOP DEFENSEMAN: Roman Josi, NSH ($6,400)
Josi has been nearly a point-per-game player for the Predators over his past 10 (nine assists) despite being held without a goal on 27 SOG. He had 17 blocks in that stretch. Despite injury limiting him to 67 of a possible 76 games, Josi is one of three defensemen (others: Brent Burns, San Jose Sharks; Karlsson) with at least 45 points, 15 PPP and 200 SOG. Like Arvidsson, Josi has excelled at home (30 points in 35 games), and the Maple Leafs are allowing the most DraftKings points to opposing defensemen.
VALUE DEFENSEMAN: Zdeno Chara, BOS ($4,100)
Chara is no longer the power-play fixture he was for most of his NHL career, but he's been productive at 40 years old. The Bruins captain has seven points, 20 blocks and 17 SOG in his past 10 games for an average of 3.6 DraftKings points per game (season average: 2.6) heading into the game against the Stars. He also has two shorthanded goals this season, tied with Mark Giordano of the Calgary Flames for the most League-wide by a defenseman.
GOALIE SPOTLIGHT: Andrei Vasilevskiy, TBL ($8,300)
Vasilevskiy has allowed four goals in four of his past five games, going 2-3-0. That said, the Tampa Bay Lightning may have turned the corner with a 5-4 comeback win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday. Vasilevskiy is 2-0-0 with a .962 save percentage against the Detroit Red Wings this season and has been stellar in games played on two days' rest (6-2-0, .927 SV%). The Red Wings have the worst road power play in the NHL (10.8 percent).
