Defenseman led Detroit with 26 points last season, was restricted free agent

Filip Hronek signed a three-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 23-year-old defenseman scored 26 points (two goals, 24 assists) in 56 games last season and led the Red Wings in points and average time on ice (23:23). Hronek, who was a restricted free agent, has scored 80 points (16 goals, 64 assists) in 167 games, all with Detroit. Hronek was a second-round pick (No. 53) by the Red Wings at the 2016 NHL Draft.
