NEW YORK -- Neo soul/indie pop band Fitz and The Tantrums will headline the 2018 Enterprise NHL® All-Star Friday Night concert at Curtis Hixon Park on Friday, Jan. 26, to open the 2018 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend festivities in downtown Tampa, the National Hockey League and Tampa Bay Sports Commission announced today. The two-hour concert will begin at 8 p.m., and will also feature American alt-rock band Moon Taxi. It will be hosted by Nashville Predators defenseman and 2018 NHL All-Star P.K. Subban and 93.3 FLZ's Scotty Davis. The event will be free and open to the public. No ticket will be required for entry.

Brimming with imagination, energy, and genre-smashing scope, Fitz and The Tantrums defied the odds to become an indisputable phenomenon, a chart-topping, show-stopping modern pop combo unlike any other. Critics have called their live show "captivatingly crazy" and praised the band for its "irrepressible energy: hopped up rhythms, shout-it-out choruses, and hooted background vocals." The Los Angeles-based sextet followed up on the success of their debut studio album, Pickin' Up The Pieces, which featured the irresistible singles "MoneyGrabber" and "Don't Gotta Work It Out," with their second album and major label debut, More Than Just A Dream (Elektra Records). Their sophomore effort included a pair of Platinum-certified hit singles "The Walker" and "Out Of My League." In 2016, the band released their latest full length, Fitz and the Tantrums, which was highlighted by their biggest hit to date and third Platinum smash, the infectiously electrifying single, "HandClap."
Moon Taxi, a five-piece band, is reaching new heights with the success of its new single, "Two High," topping more than 60 million streams on Spotify and making heavy rotation on SiriusXM. The song is the first single from its highly anticipated fifth studio album, Let The Record Play, which was released today via RCA Records. Moon Taxi's Let The Record Play tour is set to open in February.

Let The Record Play is a triumphant moment of rock-pop exploration. Produced and mixed by the band's guitarist, Spencer Thomson, Let The Record Play is a document of one of the most creative bands to emerge from Nashville's immensely fertile landscape - and one that has been thriving on the festival scene for years, bringing its electric performances to Coachella, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo and beyond. Beloved enough in its hometown to sell out two nights at the famed Ryman Auditorium this past October, this LP, its RCA Records debut, is certain to catapult the band even higher.
The Tampa Bay Lightning®, who are celebrating their 25th season, and the city of Tampa will host the 2018 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend. The League's midseason showcase will take place at AMALIE Arena and will include the 2018 NHL All-Star Skills Competition™ on Saturday, Jan. 27 (7:00 p.m. ET, NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS) and the 2018 Honda NHL® All-Star Game on Sunday, Jan. 28 (3:30 p.m. ET, NBC, CBC, SN, TVAS).
