Panthers honor Yandle for reaching 1,000-game milestone

Keith Yandle's NHL journey has taken him to three different home cities and now 1,000 career games.

The veteran defenseman was honored by the Florida Panthers for reaching the milestone before their game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.
Yandle, who spent nine seasons with the Arizona Coyotes and two with the New York Rangers is now in his fifth with the Panthers.
The Panthers wore special jerseys during warmups for the occasion, each with Yandle's name and the No. 1000 on the back.

The team also had special shirts made up with Yandle's face replacing the Panther on the team logo. It also read "Sooooonk" across the top of the crest, a reference to a move behind the net - and accompanying noise - Yandle has popularized during his career.

Yandle was presented with the commemorative silver stick for reaching 1,000 games. He also got to present his wife Kristyn and his two daughters, Mila and Lola, with bouquets of flowers.
The team put together a special tribute video which featured teammates past and present, his parents, Buddy and Patti, one of his high school coaches and Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Ray Bourque.
Yandle also received a framed plaque featuring pictures of him playing for each of the three teams throughout his career.
