ELMONT, N.Y. -- Sam Reinhart scored again to extend his point streak to 13 games, and the Florida Panthers recovered for a 3-2 overtime win against the New York Islanders at UBS Arena on Saturday.

Reinhart has 18 points (14 goals, four assists) during his point streak and 19 goals in his past 17 games overall.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson won it for Florida at 1:57 of overtime when he took a pass from Evan Rodrigues on a 2-on-1 and beat Semyon Varlamov blocker side under the crossbar.

“Well, [Ekman-Larsson] turned the corner there, and you knew right when he came out of that turn he had the speed to get there," Panthers coach Paul Maurice said. "He has incredibly good finishing hands. The question was, was Rodrigues going to be able to get him the puck, and he did.”

Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and an assist, and Anthony Stolarz made 21 saves for the Panthers (31-14-4), who have won four in a row, including 3-2 in a shootout against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.

“It's tough to go back-to-back,” Stolarz said. “It was a hard-fought game last night, a lot of energy exerted, but just the way that we were able to kind of just pack it in and kind of just worry about the defensive zone -- I thought that the defense did a great job tonight of letting me see the shots from the point. Obviously, the Islanders are a very big team and they like to get in front of you, and they did a great job for me.”

Simon Holmstrom and Kyle Palmieri scored for the Islanders (20-17-12), who have lost three in a row. Varlamov made 34 saves.

“I really liked our game," New York coach Patrick Roy said. “I thought we had a really good first period. We had some good chances early in that second period, two 2-on-1s and one breakaway. I mean, if we scored there, it could have been a difference-maker.”

Reinhart gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead at 7:56 of the second period with a power-play goal, beating Varlamov blocker side with a one-timer from the slot.

Holmstrom tied it 1-1 at 16:29. Following a tie-up on a face-off, Jean-Gabriel Pageau whiffed on a loose puck in the slot, but Holmstrom was right behind him and buried it past Stolarz's right pad.

Tkachuk put the Panthers back in front 2-1 with another power-play goal at 5:59 of the third period. He redirected Aleksander Barkov's shot five-hole on Varlamov.

Palmieri tied it 2-2 at 18:31 with a one-timer off a cross-ice pass from Noah Dobson that fluttered in off the mask of Stolarz.

“It wasn’t the prettiest of games to watch. ... Two teams competing out there, not giving much space, so we knew it was going to come down to the wire,” Reinhart said. “It was nice to get the extra point.”

NOTES: Tkachuk extended his point streak to five games (four goals, five assists). ... Dobson extended his point streak to five games (nine assists).
