Mauer split

Joe Mauer looks like a pro behind the plate and on the ice.

The former MLB catcher -- who spent all 15 years of his professional baseball career with the Minnesota Twins -- swapped out the baseball jersey for a hockey sweater to show off his hockey skills.

The St. Paul, Minn. native, of course, was rocking a Minnesota Wild jersey.

Mauer looked like a natural in skates and was handling the puck as good as anyone, even scoring a flashy gloveside goal during his skating session.

The six-time MLB All Star then broke out the head-first slide, a skill he learned on the baseball diamond, no doubt.

The video was to promote the Wild's

charity event, which takes place July 7-8.

During the 2018-19 hockey season -- the year that Mauer retired from baseball -- the

by wearing his No. 7 during pre-game warmups.
