PHI@NJD: Brodeur performs ceremonial puck drop at MetLife

A couple New Jersey Devils legends got things going ahead of the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on Saturday.

Hall of Fame goalie Martin Brodeur performed the ceremonial puck drop before the Devils played against the Philadelphia Flyers at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Brodeur wore a Devils Stadium Series jersey as he dropped the puck between Devils captain Nico Hischier and Flyers captain Sean Couturier.

Former Devils defenseman P.K. Subban read New Jersey's starting lineup in the locker room before the game.

“He’s buff, he’s tough, he’s Lindy Ruff,” Subban began in a video posted on social media.

Subban put his own spin before naming each starter.

“He’s pretty and he lives in Jersey City, No. 13 Nico Hischier,” Subban read.

And as wild as some of Subban's rhyming was, he finished his pregame speech with some sound advice for his former team:

"Enjoy the moment. I love you guys, Have fun," he said.
