The goalie remains sidelined with a neck injury. Jack Campbell will start and backed up by Michael Hutchinson.
Andersen returned to practice Monday, but coach Sheldon Keefe said Tuesday he isn't ready to return from the injury sustained in the first period of a 5-3 loss to the Florida Panthers on Feb. 3. He finished the period before being replaced at the start of the second by Hutchinson.
"I got bumped a couple times in that game against Florida, I can't tell you which one was the worst, but that's just the nature of the position," Andersen said Monday. "It's a neck thing, I don't want to go into specifics, but I'm just making sure I can play at the level I need to be at and there's no symptoms."
Andersen is 24-9-6 with a 2.87 goals-against average, .910 save percentage and one shutout in 42 games. He is tied for second in the NHL in wins and tied for third in games played.
Campbell has started the past two games -- a 5-4 overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks on Feb. 7 and a 2-1 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens the following day. He was acquired in a trade with forward Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings for forward Trevor Moore on Feb. 5.
"It's just part of the process," Keefe said. "He wanted to get another skate in today and see how he felt. He's been progressing very well, working towards a return but he's just not their yet."
The Maple Leafs (29-19-8) are third in the Atlantic Division, two points ahead of the Panthers, and might be without John Tavares and Justin Holl. The center and defenseman are each a game-time decision
