While Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen may spell his last name differently from the hero of the sci-fi movie classic, his sprawling save save near the end of Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round Series against the Boston Bruins recalled some of the action moves.
Andersen had moved to his left as the puck was sent out to the point, nothing to see there, but as the puck was quickly shifted back to Bruins forward David Pastrnak near the net, Andersen somehow dove to his right and stopped the puck clearly ticketed for the net with the blade of his stick.
How Andersen was able to stop the shot remains a mystery.
This is one of those Stanley Cup Playoff plays that no matter how many times you watch it, you still won't be able to understand the outcome.
