Landeskog was placed in NHL COVID-19 protocol Feb. 4 and was removed Wednesday. The Avalanche captain has scored eight points (three goals, five assists) in 11 games this season.
"Originally, I wasn't too worried about it, but then you start sitting down looking at the calendar and you start counting the days and realize it might come into play and might be in danger of missing this one," Landeskog said after practice Friday. "But obviously just follow the protocol and I was lucky enough and fortunate enough to come back in time. These are games that you definitely don't want to miss, especially not for COVID. Excited to be back and I'm feeling good."
Makar missed two games with an upper-body injury and was a game-time decision. The defenseman has 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 12 games.
The Avalanche had four games postponed to comply with NHL COVID-19 protocols since a 2-1 win against the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 2. Colorado returned with a 1-0 loss to Vegas on Sunday and defeated the Golden Knights 3-2 on Tuesday.
Defenseman Samuel Girard was also in the lineup. Girard, who missed the past two games because of protocol, has nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 11 games. Colorado has no players in protocol after Girard and goalie
Hunter Miska
were removed Friday
"We'll get a little bit of a different look with our lineup tomorrow with some guys coming back in," Bednar said.
