For Season 5 of "Queer Eye" on Netflix, the Fab Five faced what appeared to be their biggest makeover challenge: Gritty.
The season takes place in Philadelphia, so why not take on the furry, orange heart of the Flyers?
Gritty met with Antoni Porowski, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France and Jonathan Van Ness in an attempt to improve his overall style, head-to-toe. But despite Gritty's untamed beard and hair and commitment to wearing the same outfit nearly every single day, things went surprisingly well.
Van Ness, the Queer Eye grooming expert, had the first crack at Gritty. He didn't change a thing.
"I know not to mess up perfect eyebrows," Van Ness says.
France, the fashion expert, ran Gritty through an array of hockey jerseys and only added a French Tuck.
Berk, the show's design and home decor expert, gave Gritty a home space to "get away and be Zen," which was a locker stall covered in faux orange fur with a large silver G hanging on the inside and a personal standing mirror.
Porowski, the food and wine expert, learned about Gritty's uncomprimising love of cheesesteaks and even succumbed to the big furball's diet.
The last stop for Gritty was with Brown, the Queer Eye culture expert, who reassured the mascot that he can count on his old friend, the Philly Phanatic.
When the Fab Five wrapped up the episode, they had a new friend in Gritty.
