A good version of the national anthem can bring about patriotic feelings. Guitarist Gary Hoey's version scored big on Thursday night.
Before the Boston Bruins took on the Columbus Blue Jackets, Hoey's 1-minute, 41-second version was electric. The Bruins also honored past and present members of the United States Armed Forces ahead of Veterans Day, which is on Friday.

For Hoey, a Boston native and long-time rock guitarist, it was hardly his first crack at the "Star-Spangled Banner." He's played it before for several other teams, including the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and San Diego Padres.
