New Jersey Devils left wing Taylor Hall is day to day with a lower-body injury and will not play against the Washington Capitals on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CSN-DC).

The Devils said Hall's injury is unrelated to the arthroscopic knee surgery he had Nov. 16 that caused him to miss eight games.
Hall, 25, had an assist in 16:48 of ice time in a 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday. He has eight goals and 15 assists in 27 games in his first season with New Jersey since being acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers for defenseman Adam Larsson on June 29.
Also, Devils forward Vernon Fiddler will miss 3-4 weeks with a lower-body injury.
