NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby and Hockey Hall of Fame member Willie O'Ree joined several other prominent players and executives from the hockey world appearing in a video titled "In Union There is Strength," to support racial equality.

The video, created by former NHL forward Anson Carter, includes New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban and Edmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl among those speaking out on racial injustice after George Floyd, a black man, died in custody of the Minneapolis Police Department on May 25.

Floyd's death has sparked protests in cities across the United States. A white Minneapolis police officer has been charged with second-degree murder, and three other officers were charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.

Players and members of the hockey community from all backgrounds state, "You don't have to look like George Floyd to understand that what happened to him was wrong."
