The Washington Capitals goalie and his wife Brandi rescued a kitten while walking on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge between Maryland and Virginia.
The family noticed the kitten trapped in a hole and, joined by some curious onlookers, lured it out of the hole with a can of tuna. They moved it to a cardboard box and carried it to safety.
Brandi Holtby captured video of the rescue and shared it to Twitter in hopes that it would provide some good news.
