"He's 100 percent and we're excited to have him back," Rangers acting coach Kris Knoblauch said.
Shesterkin is 6-7-1 with a 2.31 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in 15 games (13 starts) this season.
"Looked great in practice," center Ryan Strome said. "Obviously, if we're going to make a little bit of a push here, he's going to be a part of it."
The Rangers (14-13-4) trail the Flyers by two points for fifth in the MassMutual East Division and the fourth-place Boston Bruins by four. The top four teams will qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Alexandar Georgiev is expected to back up to Shesterkin against the Flyers. He was 2-3-0 with a 3.26 GAA, .868 save percentage and one shutout in five starts since Shesterkin was injured. Keith Kinkaid was 3-1-1 with a 2.22 GAA, .908 save percentage and one shutout in seven games (five starts).
Georgiev requires waivers to be sent to the Rangers' taxi squad. Kinkaid does not.
"I think in Shesterkin's
will make the trip to Philadelphia if he clears a cardiac screening, which is part of COVID-19 protocols. Di Giuseppe has missed five games while on the protocol list.
