"The Nassau Coliseum. The Barn... The energy in that room is just amazing," Macchio said.
Macchio pointed out that the only home game the Islanders lost during that series was the one Fallon attended, to laughs from the audience. He also spoke about going to the Coliseum as a kid, remembering where he sat for every big game he attended.
The Islanders, now in brand-new UBS Arena this season, always recognize when Macchio is in the house.
"They were doing 'Wax on, Playoffs,' is what they were saying," Macchio chuckled.
In addition to being a celebrity superfan, he also got his own hockey card.
During the NHL's 75th Anniversary season, the League celebrated by picking celebrity captains and featuring them on special edition cards.
"That was like 1991 and 'My Cousin Vinny' had just come out at that time," Macchio said. "The NHL, it was the 75th year... so they were going to different teams finding celebrity captains and I got a hockey card."
"I love that you put the gloves on too," Fallon joked.
"I don't know what that was. It had to be my choice," Macchio joked.
