Jack Eichel received a warm welcome from his new home.
The newest Golden Knight was introduced to the Vegas crowd at the Golden Knights game against the Seattle Kraken at T-Mobile Arena Tuesday. The fans erupted at the sight of their new forward.
On Nov. 4, the Golden Knights acquired Eichel and a conditional pick from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs and two conditional picks. Eichel landed in Vegas on Nov. 7 and addressed fans in a Twitter video, saying he was "super excited" to be there.
In March, the 25-year-old herniated a disk in his neck in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders. After disagreeing on which treatment option Eichel should receive, the Sabres ruled him out for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season in April. After his trade to Vegas, Eichel will undergo the treatment he preferred and have his herniated disk artificially replaced. Surgery is set for Friday and Eichel is expected to be out for three months.
