Jack Hughes, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, was among the 42 United States-born players named to participate in the seventh USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, to be held at Xcel Energy Center on Sept. 19.

Players selected are eligible for the 2019 draft in Vancouver and were picked by USA Hockey in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.
"We look forward to bringing this event to Minnesota," USA Hockey executive director Pat Kelleher said. "The game is a terrific showcase of American hockey and fans will get an early look at players they will soon see in the NHL."
Hughes, a 17-year-old center who plays for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program under-18 team, is the brother of Vancouver Canucks defenseman prospect Quintin Hughes, the No. 7 pick of the 2018 NHL Draft.
Jack Hughes (5-foot-9, 157 pounds) had 116 points (40 goals, 76 assists) in 60 games with the NTDP U-17 and U-18 teams last season, one point from Auston Matthews' single-season program record set in 2014-15. Hughes had 68 points (27 goals, 41 assists) in 36 games for the U-18 team.
He arguably was the best player at the World Junior Summer Showcase in Kamloops, British Columbia, this month despite being the youngest player at the event. He had three points (one goal, two assists) in five games, including an assist to Quintin Hughes for the winning goal against Canada in a split-squad game.
NHL teams have drafted 127 players who have competed in the All-American Prospects Game, including 30 first-round selections and 46 who have made their NHL debut. The list includes Jack Eichel (Buffalo Sabres), Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes), Dylan Larkin (Detroit Red Wings), Seth Jones (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets). Brady Tkachuk, who was selected No. 4 in the 2018 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators, was named the most valuable player of last year's game.
Also selected for the game and expected to be chosen in the first round of the 2019 draft are USNTDP forwards Matthew Boldy (6-1, 175), Alex Turcotte (5-10, 186), Cole Caufield (5-6, 150), Trevor Zegras (5-11, 159) and John Beecher (6-2, 201), and USNTDP defenseman Cameron York (5-11, 163).
Coaches for the game will be announced at a later date.
