It was like the reverse of "Happy Gilmore."
Golf legend Jack Nicklaus, the Golden Bear, tried his hand at hockey before the 2017 RBC Canadian Open on Tuesday. Nicklaus donned a hockey jersey and shot a couple of pucks as a promo for the tournament, held in Oakville, Ontario.
There is an overwhelming hockey theme called "The Rink" at Glen Abbey Golf Course , the site of the Canadian Open. The par-3 seventh hole is surrounded by hockey boards, the tee markers are goalie masks and there is a full-size Zamboni machine off to the side. Graham DeLaet, a PGA Tour pro and native of Saskatchewan, gleefully tweeted a photo of the machine from the Open.
