Dallas Stars goalie Jake Oettinger prevented a goal with the back of his leg somehow during the first period of Game 3 of the Western Conference First Round against the Calgary Flames on Saturday. A shot from Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington pinged off the right post and started floating toward Oettinger's back. Somehow, it landed softly right on the back of the goalie's left leg and sat there like a pancake on a griddle waiting to be flipped.
Oettinger had the presence of mind to sit on the puck while it was resting on his leg. He then pushed himself away from the goal line with his other skate. Kylington couldn't believe it. It may be better to be lucky than good, as the saying goes, but if you can be both then you are really in business.
