Jagr's greatest NHL moments

The career of Jaromir Jagr is filled with amazing moments and unbelievable accolades.
Jagr, 45, was assigned by the Calgary Flames to Kladno of the Czech Republic on Monday, a move that could spell the end of his NHL career. If it does, he will have few peers in the League record book. Jagr had seven points (one goal, six assists) in 22 games for the Flames after signing a one-year, $1 million contract as an unrestricted free agent on Oct. 4.

Here are some of the top moments of Jagr's NHL career:

June 16, 1990: With the fifth pick in the 1990 NHL Draft …

… Jagr is chosen by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He scores his first NHL goal in a 7-4 win against the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 7.

May 25, 1991: Becoming a champion

After Jagr concludes his rookie season with 57 points (27 goals, 30 assists), he becomes a Stanley Cup champion when the Penguins defeat the Minnesota North Stars in six games. Jagr had five assists in the Stanley Cup Final and 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 24 playoff games.

June 1, 1992: Jagr, Penguins do it again

At age 19, Jagr becomes a two-time Stanley Cup champion. He had 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) and tied for the League lead with nine even-strength goals to help the Penguins win the Cup for the second straight season following a four-game sweep of the Chicago Blackhawks in the Final.

Nov. 3, 1993: Century mark

Jagr scores the 100th goal of his NHL career in the Penguins' 6-2 win against the Buffalo Sabres at ARCO Arena in Sacramento. His goal 2:00 into the second period was the first of two against Sabres goalie Grant Fuhr.

July 6, 1995: Scoring king

Jagr wins the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL's leading scorer for the first time with 70 points (32 goals, 38 assists) in a shortened 48-game season while finishing second to Philadelphia Flyers forward Eric Lindros for the Hart Trophy as the League's most valuable player.

June 1999: League MVP

Jagr puts together his signature NHL season with 127 points (44 goals, 83 assists) to win the Hart Trophy for the first time. He also wins his third Art Ross Trophy and first of three Ted Lindsay Awards (formerly the Lester B. Pearson Award). Jagr's 44 goals were second in the League behind Mighty Ducks of Anaheim forward Teemu Selanne (47).

Dec. 30, 1999: Seven is heaven

Jagr has a seven-point game for the first of two times in his NHL career when he scores three goals and adds four assists for the Penguins in a 9-3 win against the New York Islanders. He matched the feat with the Washington Capitals during a 12-2 victory against the Florida Panthers on Jan. 11, 2003. Jagr also tied Dino Ciccarelli's Capitals record for points in one game set against the Hartford Whalers on March 19, 1989.

Dec. 30, 2000: Millennium club

Jagr earns his 1,000th NHL point with a goal at 5:55 of the second period in the Penguins' 5-3 win against the Ottawa Senators at Mellon Arena. He went on to win his fourth Art Ross Trophy with 121 points, including 52 goals, then a career best.

Feb. 4, 2003: 500th goal

Jagr scores three times for the Capitals to give him 500 NHL goals in a 5-1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena, becoming the 33rd NHL player to reach the milestone and the 16th in less than 1,000 games. No. 500 comes when Jagr beats goalie John Grahame with a power-play goal for his 30th of the season.

Nov. 19, 2006: 600th goal

Jagr sets a bevy of milestones while playing for the New York Rangers in 2006-07, first by becoming the 16th player in NHL history to score 600 goals during a 4-1 win against the Lightning.

Two nights later, Jagr passed Jari Kurri for the most goals by a European-born player by scoring twice in a 4-0 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes. Then on Nov. 25, Jagr had two points (goal, assist) against the Penguins for NHL point No. 1,468, breaking the European record set by Stan Mikita.
Jagr set Rangers single-season records for goals (54) and points (123), passing Adam Graves (52, 1993-94) and Jean Ratelle (109, 1971-72).

Feb. 10, 2007: Point No. 1,500

Jagr becomes the 12th player in NHL history to score 1,500 points with three assists to help the Rangers defeat the Capitals 5-2. He reached the milestone by setting up Michal Rozsival's power-play goals in the first and third periods.

April 5, 2007: 30 for 15

Finishing his first season as Rangers captain, Jagr joins
Mike Gartner
as the only NHL players to score at least 30 goals in 15 consecutive seasons in a 3-1 win against the Montreal Canadiens.

March 1, 2014: 700 club

At age 42, Jagr becomes the seventh player in NHL history to score 700 goals in the New Jersey Devils' 6-1 win against the Islanders. The milestone goal came at 3:31 of the second period when Jagr beat goalie Evgeni Nabokov for his 19th of the season.

Jan. 3, 2015: Old school

At 42 years and 322 days old, Jagr becomes the oldest NHL player to get a hat trick when he scores three times for the Devils in a 5-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers. Jagr's 15th NHL hat track, and first since March 26, 2006, broke the mark held by Howe (41 years, 217 days).

Dec. 22, 2016: Passing Messier

for No. 2 on the NHL's all-time scoring list with a third-period assist of Aleksander Barkov's goal to give him 1,888 points, trailing only Gretzky.

Jan. 2, 2016: All-Star captain

At age 43, Jagr is voted by fans to captain the Atlantic Division for the 2016 Honda NHL All-Star Game at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
