The Buffalo Sabres forward is facing discipline for cross-checking Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jake Guentzel on Friday.
The incident occurred with 22 seconds left in the third period of the Penguins' 4-3 overtime win at KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Skinner was assessed a match penalty on the play, and he and Guentzel each was given a minor penalty for slashing. Guentzel was serving his penalty when the game ended at 1:36 of overtime.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: cross-checking. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
