Hat tosses aren't solely reserved for the home team during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Hats again rained down after Joe Pavelski capped his first playoff hat trick in the Dallas Stars 5-4 overtime win against the Calgary Flames in Game 4 of the Western Conference First Round at Rogers Place.
after Connor McDavid's three-goal game for the Edmonton Oilers against the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers.
The hat tosses were back after Pavelski scored his third of the game, which tied the score with 11.9 seconds left in regulation. Members of Rogers Place ice crew threw the hats Sunday and will do so for any other three-goal games henceforth.
Pavelski's teammate Alexander Radulov kept the celebration going after the game as well.
Pavelski's goal and the subsequent overtime score also pushed back the start of Game 4 of the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Chicago Blackhawks, which Vegas weighed in about on Twitter via a pun.
