Gibson announced as Ducks starting goalie by Ohtani in Japanese

John Gibson regularly hears his name as the starter in goal for the Anaheim Ducks, but it's safe to say he's never heard it like this before.

Gibson was announced as the Ducks goalie in Japanese by Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Angels outfielder/pitcher and defending American League Rookie of the Year, as part of Angels night against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday.

Ohtani was joined by teammate David Fletcher and Angels alum Mark Langston in announcing the lineup as well as participating in a ceremonial pre-game puck drop. After Fletcher announced the starters, Ohtani piped up saying "Lastly, the All-Star goalie, Gibby" in Japanese, which was met with a roar from players in Anaheim's locker room.
Ohtani got the full VIP treatment, with an up-close look at warmups and also got to schmooze with other Ducks players before the game.
