The Montreal Canadiens forward is facing discipline for boarding Detroit Red Wings forward Matt Luff on Tuesday.
The incident occurred along the wall in the neutral zone at 14:28 of the third period of Montreal's 3-2 shootout win at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Slafkovsky received a major penalty on the play and a game misconduct. Luff left the game with an upper-body injury and did not return; the forward will be out 10-12 weeks.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
