2. Star In the Making? Just three days before being recalled, Holl participated in the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic. Incredibly, Holl was named as a replacement for Travis Dermott, who not only was called up to the Maple Leafs earlier this month, but also scored his first NHL goal in the same game as Holl.
3. It's Been A While: The last time a Maple Leafs defenseman scored in his NHL debut, the internet wasn't even a thing people knew about. It was March 4, 1978 when Ron Wilson kicked off his career with a goal.
4. New Nicknames: It didn't take long for Holl to get a couple of nicknames. Travis Dermott said the team was calling Holl "Justin Lidstrom" for his scoring pace. Hollsy Orr and Holl of Fame are a few other nicknames that have come up.
5. Stick Around, Dads: Both of Holl's goals came during the Maple Leafs Father's Trip, but his dad, Jerry, wasn't able to make the first game after Justin's last-minute callup. But Jerry Holl saw the second goal live in a suite with the rest of the Maple Leafs dads. Fun fact about Jerry Holl: He once rode a bicycle from Alaska to Mexico and wrote a book about it called "Downhills Don't Come Free."
