K'Andre Miller signed a two-year, $7.744 million contract with the New York Rangers on Tuesday. It has an average annual value of $3.872 million.
The 23-year-old defenseman was a restricted free agent.
Miller had NHL career highs in goals (nine), assists (34) and points (43) in 79 regular-season games, and his average ice time of 21:57 per game was second among New York defensemen, after Adam Fox (24:23). Miller also had one assist in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The No. 22 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, Miller has 75 points (21 goals, 54 assists) in 214 regular-season games and eight points (two goals, six assists) in 27 playoff games.
Miller's signing leaves forward Alexis Lafreniere as the only restricted free agent among the lineup regulars from last season.
