As part of her first week on the air, Coyne Schofield will join NHL Network hosts Jamie Hersch and Jackie Redmond for the second annual all-female production of NHL Network's daily show NHL Now on Tuesday, March 5 at 4:00 p.m. ET. Inspired by Hockey Is For Everyone™ , a joint NHL and NHLPA initiative celebrating diversity and inclusion in hockey, the show will feature women and girls across the sport of hockey, including analysis on top NHL® storylines and in-studio skills demonstrations by Coyne Schofield, as well as appearances from special guests and League and club executives, plus reports from regularly featured NHL club correspondents, Caley Chelios (Lightning), Lauren Gardner (Avalanche), Lyndsay Rowley (Predators), and three-time Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Botterill (Islanders).
"I am extremely excited for the opportunity to join NHL Network as an on-air analyst," said Coyne Schofield. "I'm looking forward to joining a team of expert analysts and sharing my passion for the game with hockey fans."
Coyne Schofield joins NHL Network following her breakout performance in the Bridgestone NHL Fastest Skater™ event at the 2019 SAP NHL All-Star Skills™ in January. As a member of the U.S. Women's National Hockey Team since 2011, Coyne Schofield has competed in two Olympic Winter Games, winning a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang and winning a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
Coyne Schofield most recently served as captain for Team USA in the 2019 Rivalry Series against Team Canada, which was televised on NHL Network last month. She has previously won five gold medals at the IIHF Women's World Ice Hockey Championship tournaments, and she has represented the U.S. in three IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championships, where she holds the all-time leading scorer title in tournament history with 33 points (22-11) in 15 games. In addition to her international playing experience, Coyne Schofield has played professional hockey with the National Women's Hockey League's Minnesota Whitecaps since 2016.
A Northeastern University graduate with a degree in communications, Coyne Schofield led the NCAA in goals, goals per game, points per game, shorthanded goals and hat tricks during the 2015-16 season, and in 2016 she was named the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award recipient as the top player in women's college hockey.
