Andreas Athanasiou signed a one-year, $2.7 million contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

The 26-year-old forward was a restricted free agent. He scored 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 47 games last season.
Selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the fourth round (No. 110) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Athanasiou has scored 179 points (94 goals, 85 assists) in 350 regular-season games with the Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Red Wings, and one goal in nine Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Kings signed all of their restricted free agents: Athanasiou and forwards Blake Lizotte (one year, $800,000) and Trevor Moore (two years, $3.75 million.
Los Angeles also signed unrestricted free agent forward Phillip Danault (six years, $33 million) and defenseman Alexander Edler (one year, $3.5 million) on Wednesday.
