Kurtis MacDermid was traded to the Colorado Avalanche by the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday.

Seattle received a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
MacDermid was selected by Seattle from the Los Angeles Kings in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft on July 21. The 27-year-old defenseman scored four points (two goals, two assists) in 28 games for the Kings this season and spent time on the taxi squad.
Signed by Los Angeles as a free agent on Sept 12, 2012, MacDermid has scored 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in 118 NHL games. He has one season remaining on a two-year, $1.75 million contract ($875,000 average annual value) he signed with the Kings on April 10, 2020.
It was the second trade for the Kraken, who will begin play as the NHL's 32nd team next season.
Forward Tyler Pitlick, who was selected from the Arizona Coyotes in the expansion draft, was traded to the Calgary Flames for a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft on July 22.
