The Los Angeles Kings acquired forward Kris Versteeg from the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday for right wing Valentin Zykov and a conditional fifth-round pick.
Versteeg, 29, has 11 goals and 33 points in 63 games this season. A fifth-round pick (No. 134) in the 2004 NHL Draft has 127 goals and 308 points in 535 regular-season games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers and Hurricanes. He has 16 goals and 42 points in 84 Stanley Cup Playoff games and won the Stanley Cup twice with the Blackhawks (2009-10 and 2014-15).

The 20-year-old Zykov, a second-round pick (No. 37) in the 2013 NHL Draft, had 14 points in 43 games with Ontario of the American Hockey League this season.
The Kings acquired defenseman Rob Scuderi from the Blackhawks on Friday in a trade for defenseman Christian Ehrhoff.
Carolina traded forward Eric Staal to the New York Rangers earlier Sunday.
