Forward Kyle Palmieri signed a five-year, $23.25 million contract with the New Jersey Devils on Thursday. The contract has an average annual value of $4.65 million.
Palmieri, a restricted free agent, led the Devils with 57 points and tied for the lead with 30 goals. Those totals were NHL career bests.

"For me it just brings pure excitement," Palmieri said. "Obviously I had a great time and it was a lot of fun this year. With the additions we've made this summer I'm really looking forward to what the future might hold for this team."
The Devils had acquired Palmieri from the Anaheim Ducks for a second-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in 2016 on June 29, 2015.
In six seasons Palmieri has 73 goals and 146 points in 280 games with the Ducks and Devils.
