Palmieri's wife doesn't recognize him beardless after trade to Islanders

Next time newly acquired New York Islanders forward Kyle Palmieri leaves the house he'd better not forget his keys.

Palmieri's wife, Ashlee, tweeted she didn't recognize her husband without his beard, which he was forced to shave to adhere to the Islanders no facial hair policy after being traded by the New Jersey Devils.

As for when the last time Palmieri did anything with a bare face? The veteran of 11 NHL seasons was still an undergrad at the University of Notre Dame.
"First razor I've bought, I think since college, so it's been a while," Palmieri said after a 3-2 shootout win against the Philadelphia Flyers. "But I was able to FaceTime (defenseman Andy Greene) and he walked me through the] buying a razor process."
Palmieri and Travis Zajac were
[traded to the Islanders on Wednesday
for forwards A.J. Greer and Mason Jobst, a first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Palmieri is ready to adjust, even if the Mrs. isn't just yet.
"I'm excited to be here and excited to shave probably every day here," Palmieri said.
