Misha Donskov named to Las Vegas staff

Misha Donskov was hired by the Las Vegas NHL expansion franchise as director of hockey operations on Monday.
Donskov, 39, most recently served Hockey Canada's Men's National Team as an assistant coach/hockey operations. Prior to that, he was manager of hockey operations/analytics and video for Hockey Canada. He won two IIHF World Championship gold medals (2015, 2016) and a gold medal at the 2015 World Juniors.

Before joining Hockey Canada, Donskov was an associate coach for Ottawa of the Ontario Hockey League from 2012-14. He also spent three seasons as assistant general manager and assistant coach for London, winning the 2012 OHL championship. He won a gold medal with the U.S. women's team at the 2011 World Championship as player development coach/scouting specialist.
Donskov previously worked in hockey development, community development, fan development, marketing and hockey operations for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Atlanta Thrashers.
Donskov's hiring is the latest for Las Vegas. After naming George McPhee general manager on July 13, Kelly McCrimmon was named assistant general manager on Aug. 2, Will Nichol director of player development on Aug. 4 and Katy Boettinger director of hockey administration on Aug. 5.
Las Vegas will begin play in the 2017-18 NHL season and plans to have a nickname, logo, color scheme and uniforms in place sometime in September.
