Laurent Brossoit and Vladislav Namestnikov each signed a contract with the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

Brossoit, a goalie, signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract; Namestnikov, a forward, signed a two, year, $4 million contract ($2 million AAV).

Brossoit was 7-0-3 with a 2.17 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in 11 regular-season games (10 starts) for the Vegas Golden Knights last season. The 30-year-old was 5-2 with a 3.18 GAA and .894 save percentage in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He did not play after sustaining a lower-body injury in Game 3 of the Western Conference Second Round against the Edmonton Oilers; the Golden Knights went on to win the Stanley Cup.

"It was one of those injuries that my timeline didn't really allow me an opportunity to play again," Brossoit said. "But in that last series, I could have gone on the ice and started working through that, but we just felt it wasn't necessary. So the health is good, I'm in a lot better position than I was last year at this time, so I'm very excited."

Selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round (No. 164) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Brossoit is 49-41-11 with a 2.78 GAA, .908 save percentage and three shutouts in 117 regular-season games (96 starts) for the Golden Knights, Jets and Edmonton Oilers and 5-2 with a 3.26 GAA and .888 save percentage in nine playoff games (eight starts).

"Obviously we have some depth on the back end right now, that will have to sort itself out as we go here," Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff said. "In net, we have a strong tandem there. I'm excited about this group."

Namestnikov had 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists) in 77 regular-season games for the Jets and Tampa Bay Lightning last season. The 30-year-old had 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 57 games until he was traded to the San Jose Sharks for forward Michael Eyssimont on March 1, 2023. Two days later, he was sent to the Jets for a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft

He had two assists in five playoff games.

Selected by the Lightning in the first round (No. 27) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Namestnikov has 261 points (115 goals, 146 assists) in 630 regular-season games for the Jets, Lightning, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Colorado Avalanche, Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers and 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in 53 playoff games.

Goalie Collin Delia also signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Jets on Saturday. He was 10-6-2 with a 3.28 GAA and .882 save percentage in 20 games (18 starts) for the Vancouver Canucks last season. The 29-year-old is 19-18-7 with a 3.51 GAA and .897 save percentage in 52 regular-season games (45 starts).

The Jets traded forward Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday for forwards Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, and Rasmus Kupari, and a second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

"The keeping of 'Vladdy', the addition of the three forwards, I think it really gives us a group of forwards that we really haven't had at any point in time in this organization from top to bottom," Cheveldayoff said. "That group of 12, 13, or 14 forwards there, there are lots of options, there are lots of ways to put them together."

Forward Blake Wheeler had the final season of his five-year, $41.25 million contract bought out by the Jets on Saturday.

"You look at the moves we made, obviously, the PLD trade was something that worked exactly how we hoped it might," Cheveldayoff said. "You never know going into something like that if it can. You addressed some of your needs right now. You get a good pick in next year's draft.

"I do want to say that I would like to extend my most heartfelt thank you to Blake Wheeler and his family for all of the years that he put into this organization, what the family has put into the community and the player that he was. He bet on us several times and, unfortunately, we got close but just not close enough. He was a tremendous part of that."

The Jets (46-33-3) lost to the Golden Knights in five games in the first round of the playoffs last season.
