TAMPA -- Brayden Point is expected to be out 4-6 weeks for the Tampa Bay Lightning because of an upper-body injury.

The forward sustained the injury during a 5-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, when he crashed into the boards after being tripped by defenseman Ryan Graves while on a breakaway at 10:06 of the third period.
Point was awarded a penalty shot on the play but hit the post on the attempt.
"Can you replace players that are regarded as top-10 players in the League? No, those guys don't just fall out of the sky," Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said. "I think what replaces them is the collective group, our confidence in our structure, the mentality in how we play the game."
Point, who signed an eight-year, $76 million contract extension ($9.5 million average annual value) July 28 has scored 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in 16 games this season.
Alex Barre-Boulet was recalled from Syracuse of the American Hockey League and inserted into the lineup in a 5-4 shootout win against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday. He scored a goal in the third period to give the Lightning a 4-2 lead. He scored again in a 4-0 home win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
"Obviously, we want 'Pointer' back as soon as possible," Barre-Boulet said. "But I can get more minutes. I'm going to take them and work as hard as I can to hopefully stay here and help the team."
Point is the second key forward who is out for Tampa Bay (11-4-3). Nikita Kucherov is expected to be out at least another month following surgery he had on a lower-body injury Oct. 26.
Defenseman Erik Cernak (upper body) missed a sixth straight game. Cooper said Cernak is getting closer to returning but is considered day to day.
"Players like Brayden Point play like 18-20 minutes a game, 'Kuch' the same thing," Cooper said. "But it's a 60-minute game and there's a lot of guys that still play a ton of minutes. You just have to understand, yes, somebody's going to slot into the power play and have to pick it up there, somebody has to slot in the player's spot. But there are a lot of other guys out there that ... everybody's pulling in the right direction. We've got a good team. We have confidence in ourselves, just as we did the other night. We're OK. Knowing that at some point we're going to get these guys back puts us in a better spot."
