Budaj, a native of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, was a second-round pick (No. 63) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2001 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut with Colorado on Oct. 8, 2005, and is 158-131-40 with a 2.69 GAA, a .904 save percentage and 18 shutouts in 365 games (328 starts) during 12 seasons with the Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens, Kings and Lightning.
