Kings announcer Bob Miller hospitalized

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Kings broadcaster Bob Miller, who had quadruple bypass surgery last season, was taken to a hospital Saturday afternoon after feeling discomfort.
The news of Miller's hospitalization was first reported by the Los Angeles Times.
Miller, 78, had been keeping an active schedule at the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend. On Friday, he was the host of the ceremony for the unveiling of the renovated Crenshaw Family YMCA in Los Angeles, part of the 2017 NHL All-Star Legacy Project, and answered questions at FanFair on Thursday.

Miller was scheduled to be part of a FOX Sports live show here Saturday. He has been a Kings broadcaster since 1973, and was honored by the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000.
His hospitalization was characterized as precautionary by the Kings as a safeguard in light of his recent medical history.
This season, the Kings have accommodated Miller with a reduced schedule and used substitute broadcasters during longer Eastern road trips, including two stints by Gary Thorne.
