Hintz's 2 goals push Stars to a 5-2 win over Kings

DALLAS --Roope Hintz had two goals and an assist for the Dallas Stars in a 5-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings at American Airlines Center on Tuesday.

"It was an important response game for us," Stars coach Peter DeBoer said. "This league's all about your response. You're not going to be good every night, and I loved our response. I thought we really played well."
Dallas lost 6-3 to the New York Rangers here Saturday
Jason Robertson had a goal and two assists, and Miro Heiskanen and Jamie Benn each had two assists for Dallas (6-3-1), which had lost three of four. Scott Wedgewood made 30 saves for his first win since April 12.
"We lost three out of four games, obviously something we don't want to do," Benn said. "It's big coming back to answer, and [we] came up with a solid 60-minute effort. I think every guy in this room came to play tonight, and it's why we got a good team win."
Kevin Fiala and Arthur Kaliyev scored, and Cal Petersen made 35 saves for Los Angeles (6-6-0), which won 5-1 at the St. Louis Blues on Monday.
Hintz gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 6:49 of the first period with a slap shot from the left face-off circle on the power play.
Dallas went 3-for-4 with the man-advantage after going 0-for-13 the previous four games.
"The start wasn't what we wanted," Kings coach Todd McLellan said. "If you don't have your legs, you better have your brains, and we didn't have either. That makes it a real tough night and that's going to lead to penalties. The penalty kill did not get it done. We had it on our tape numerous times to clear and it didn't come out. With that type of firepower and that type of power play, it's going to end up in your net."

LAK@DAL: Stars score 3 nice goals in 92 seconds

Fiala tied it 1-1 at 5:21 of the second period off a rebound of a Carl Grundstrom shot that deflected off Wedgewood's glove.
The Stars then scored three goals in 1:30 to open a 4-1 lead.
Robertson made it 2-1 on the power play at 9:01 on a one-timer from the top of the right circle.
"We were working," Heiskanen said about the power play. "I think we have two really good units, and we need to be there, top-five [in the NHL] at least."
Tyler Seguin pushed it to 3-1 at 10:17 from just inside the right circle, and Hintz scored 14 seconds later on a breakaway at 10:31.
Kaliyev's power-play goal cut it to 4-2 at 14:37. Viktor Arvidsson sent a no-look, between-the-legs pass through the crease that deflected off Stars defenseman Esa Lindell's stick to Kaliyev for a tap-in.
"We know how good we can play and how good we can be as a team," Kings forward Phillip Danault said. "We want to improve every game, and on a back to back, it's a great opportunity to steal points. Obviously, a disappointing ending tonight."
Joe Pavelski scored on the power play at 18:37 for the 5-2 final.
"There's no need for the frustration level to be high right now," Los Angeles forward Anze Kopitar said. "We played a good game last night. We didn't get it done tonight. There's another game on Thursday [and] 2-1 on the trip would be a pretty good trip, so we're going to rest tomorrow and get back at it on Thursday."
