Tobias Bjornfot , the No. 22 pick of the 2019 NHL Draft, signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.
Financial terms were not released. The 18-year-old defenseman had 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) and a plus-15 rating in 39 games with Djurgardens IF J20 of the SuperElit league in Sweden last season. He also played in seven games with Djurgardens of the Swedish Hockey League, but did not have a point. Bjornfot, who was captain of Sweden when it won the gold medal at the 2019 IIHF U18 World Championship, was the Kings' second first-round selection at this year's draft; forward Alex Turcotte was selected with the No. 5 pick.
