Foegele cut the lead to 3-1 at 19:07 of the second period, chipping in a rebound after Joel Edmundson's point shot caromed back off the end boards.
“The two power-play goals early was tough,” Kings forward Trevor Moore said. “We’re just not executing. The effort was there tonight. We didn’t execute.”
Alexander Holtz scored his first of the season on a one-timer from the high slot to make it 4-1 at 2:59 of the third period.
“It was really nice to get that first one out of the way,” said Holtz, who was acquired in a trade with the New Jersey Devils on June 29. “It was a really good pass from [Pietrangelo] there, and it was nice to get a goal.”
Hertl scored his second goal of the game at 8:26, tapping in the rebound of Pietrangelo's shot at the left post to make it 5-1.
