MacKinnon attempts Bridgestone Hole-in-One Challenge

Nathan MacKinnon usually has a laser shot, but he came up a bit short on the golf course in Lake Tahoe.

The Colorado Avalanche center did not recreate Joe Sakic's hole-in-one but still earned $25,000 for the Avalanche Learn to Play Mites program during the One Million Dollar Hole-in-One Challenge presented by Bridgestone.
Sakic, the longtime Avalanche forward and team general manager, aced No. 17 at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course during the 2011 American Century Championship for his only hole-in-one and it netted him half of the $1 million pot. The other half went to charity.
MacKinnon got the chance to repeat his general manager's feat. The weather conditions were less conducive for MacKinnon's try, which aired during the first intermission of Colorado's game against the Vegas Golden Knights in the Bridgestone NHL Outdoors Saturday, with wind and cold making the situation even more difficult.
But MacKinnon had a different reason when asked why his attempt came up short.
"[Sakic] was talking in my backswing right there," MacKinnon told NBC analyst Rutledge Wood. "But it's alright."
Sakic was also tasked with recreating his great shot, but like MacKinnon's, it was off the mark.
