The 25-year-old forward did not score a point and was limited to three games for the Boston Bruins last season because of an upper-body injury. Kase had one assist in six regular-season games with the Bruins in 2019-20 after being acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks on Feb. 21, 2020. He had four assists in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games that season.
Kase did not receive a qualifying offer from the Bruins and became an unrestricted free agent.
Selected by Anaheim in the seventh round (No. 205) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Kase has scored 97 points (43 goals, 54 assists) in 207 regular-season games with the Ducks and Bruins, and six points (two goals, four assists) in 24 playoff games.
