Matthews keeps pledge by shaving mustache, raises $148,124 for Movember

Auston Matthews delivered on his pledge to shave off his trademark mustache if he raised a certain amount of money for Movember.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward set a goal of $134,000 on Oct. 28, passed it Nov. 20 and celebrated Wednesday after
raising $148,124
in support of men's health, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
"Hey everyone, the end of the month is here," Matthews said via Twitter. "I just want to say thank you for all the support and the donations to my Movember campaign. It's been an amazing month, but a deal is a deal. The time has come to shave off this [mustache]."

Matthews has raised $214,789 since 2020 despite not reaching $134,000 last year.

When it comes to his mustache, Matthews' teammates might miss it. Maple Leafs forward William Nylander and former Toronto forward Zach Hyman each said they "love it" in a 2019 Sportsnet YouTube video.
"My wife would kill me if I was rocking the [Matthews] mustache," Hyman said.
With his goals met, Matthews is no longer rocking the signature 'stache, but proved he's a man of his word.
