Fleury expected to start for Golden Knights

LAS VEGAS -- Vegas Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to start against the Carolina Hurricanes at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday (10 p.m. ET; ATTSN-RM, FS-CR, NHL.TV) after missing 25 games because of a concussion.
"He looks real good," coach Gerard Gallant said of Fleury, who returned to practice last Wednesday. "When we got him (in the expansion draft), he was the face of our franchise. He's a big part of our club. We're going to give him all the time he needs to come back, get ready to play. Hopefully, it looks like he's going to play tomorrow, and we're looking forward to that."

Fleury took a knee to the head from Detroit Red Wings forward Anthony Mantha in the second period of a 6-3 loss on Oct. 13. He stayed in the game and allowed four goals in the third period, but was placed on injured reserve with a concussion the next day.
"It's been a long time," said Fleury, who is 3-1-0 with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage in four starts . "I've been waiting for this, just to feel normal, able to be with the team, practice with them and have some fun again. ... It's fun to be back."

Fleury said he felt neck pain initially and told the trainer he was fine. He didn't think he would miss two months.
"I figured it wasn't too bad. I thought it would be quick," Fleury said. "But the next day, that's when everything hit me; the headaches, the dizziness, blurred vision, and stuff."
Vegas has gone 16-8-1 in the 25 games he has missed, including two five-game winning streaks and its current four-game winning streak. They used four goalies in Fleury's absence; Maxime Lagace started 14 games (6-6-1), Malcolm Subban started nine (7-2-0) and Oscar Dansk started three (3-0-0). Dylan Ferguson appeared in one game in relief.
"I thought they did a good job," Fleury said. "Every night, I felt we had a chance to win. They're a big reason why we're at where we are in the standings."
If Fleury doesn't play Tuesday, he likely would return against his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.
"I know it's coming," Fleury said. "There's still a game to be played. There's still a few practices before then. I want to make sure I'm ready for when they're in town. Having the chance to face them for the first time will be good."
